2. Legal bases for processing
A legal basis is needed to process personal data. We present this below.
If the data subject consents to us processing their personal data, Article 6(1)(a) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) forms the legal basis. If personal data must be processed to perform a contract to which the data subject is party, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR forms the legal basis. This also covers processing needed in order to take steps prior to entering into a contract.

If personal data must be processed to comply with a legal obligation to which our company is subject, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR forms the legal basis.

If processing is necessary for the purposes of a legitimate interest pursued by our company or by a third party and this first-mentioned interest is not overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR forms the legal basis for the processing. II. Log files
Data transmitted to us by the browser within the context of our legitimate interest of analysis and for security reasons is automatically stored in the server statistics (log files).

Specifically, this refers to the following data:

We are usually not able to attribute this data to particular individuals. This data is not merged with other data sources. Furthermore, the data is erased within seven days of statistical evaluation. Data which must be kept for longer for evidential purposes is excluded from erasure until final clarification of the respective incident.

We use a Google service to embed YouTube videos.
These videos are stored on www.youtube.com and can be played directly from our website. YouTube uses cookies to collect data and for statistical data analysis. YouTube uses cookies to record reliable video statistics, prevent fraud and improve user friendliness, among other purposes. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address) is transmitted to and stored by YouTube on servers in the US and elsewhere. Your IP address cannot be associated with you if you do not log into YouTube or another Google service before you visit the website and are not permanently signed in. 1&1 uses its 1&1 WebAnalytics service to analyze user behavior across our website and logs the usage data. According to the information from 1&1, cookies are not used for this. Within the parameters of our legitimate interest, we use the social media services of Facebook to  analyze, optimize and operate our online offering at facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Facebook”).

Facebook Custom Audiences and Website Custom Audiences
Our website uses Facebook’s advertising tools Custom Audiences and Website Custom Audiences, which generate an irreversible, anonymized digest message (hash value) from your user data. This digest is transmitted to Facebook’s social platform for analysis and marketing purposes and stored in the U.S.A.

When you access our website, the Facebook pixel is directly linked to Facebook and can store a small file on your device, so-called cookies. When you login to or visit Facebook, your view of our online offer is noted in your profile. Your personal data remains anonymous to us and does not offer any indication whatsoever as to the user’s identity.
